James O "Jim" LeGrand, 73, of Greenbrier, TN, formerly of New Lenox, IL, passed away at his Tennessee home on Monday, October 5, 2020. He was born September 19, 1947 to Hilbert "Bill" and Lorraine (Kulik) in Chicago, IL. On June 15, 1968 he married Carol Lewis in New Lenox, IL where they were able to enjoy 52 years of marriage together. James had several passions including hunting, fishing & carpentry. He loved that he was able to share his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. James was always known for being the life of the party. James worked as a Union carpenter for 42 years prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Lewis); his faithful dog, Athena; 3 children, James O LeGrand II (Catherine) of Greenbrier, TN, April Weber (Steven) of New Lenox, IL, and Robyn Ludwig (Paul) of Manhattan, IL; his 12 grandchildren: Cody, Montana, Tyler (Melanie), Devin, Tracy, Kevin, Nicole, Dylan, Caleb, Luke, Kylie & Joviannah; his 2 sisters, Suesette Olson (Greg) of Houston, TX and Nancy LeGrand (Gary) of Prudenville, MI; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, his father-in-law Walter K Lewis and his mother-in-law Dorothy Lewis.
No services are planned at this time due to Covid-19 restriction; there will be a Celebration of Life in Illinois at a future date. Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
